There are plenty of things to do when visiting or vacationing in Southwest Florida, and here are some good ideas to consider.

Beaches

Some of our biggest attractions are local beaches and we have several to choose from that are all close The Courtyard.

There are several stores on the way to all the beaches that you can get lunch and fill a cooler at.

Englewood Beach - is on Manasota Key and is about a 30-minute drive.

Nokomis Beach - (we call north jetty) is peaceful & quiet. It is about a 45-minute drive.

Venice Beach - (we call Sharky’s Beach because of the restaurant that is there) is about a 40-minute drive. They have a nice pier that you can fish on or just take a stroll. They have a gift shop that you can rent things like shark tooth shifters and umbrellas.

Boca Grande - (does have a $6.00 toll bridge) has an awesome lighthouse to visit.

Fort Myers Beach - (south direction) is a little busier but people love it. From lots of shopping options, bars to keep entertained, and jet skis to rent to play all day. About an hour and ten minute drive.

Recreation

If you like the outdoors, there are some lovely hikes and bike trails. You can rent bikes in Punta Gorda at the Acme Bike Shop.

Kayaking - Holidaze Boat Rental in Punta Gorda

Canoeing - Canoe Outpost-Peace River in Arcadia

Many people come to town to watch baseball. The Stone Crabs Stadium is spring training for the Tampa Bay Rays and is only a 10-minute drive.
